What is the PTO?

Parent Teacher Organization

A volunteer group of parents and teachers with the goal of enhancing the school experience for families and staff. 

What does the PTO do?

Fundraise

Last year our fundraisers included a Fun Run, Boon Supply orders,  and a book fair.   Through these fundraisers the PTO provided the school with playground equipment like the ga-ga pit and playground balls, fun extras for school activities like snow cones on field day, and helped with necessities like lockers for our middle school.  These funds also provided a great start to our school library.

Teacher appreciation

Our teachers are the best part of our school and the PTO wants them to feel it.  In addition to daily treats and activities during Teacher Appreciation Week, we provide additional things throughout the year, such as staff lunches, and holiday treats.  This past year that included a pie day in November and a hot chocolate bar with goodies and a raffle in December.

Room Parent Coordination

PTO coordinates room parents for each classroom.  This provides teachers with additional assistance and families with a way to get involved in the classrooms.

Volunteer Recruitment

Sometimes the school needs extra hands to help an activity run smoothly.  When they do, they turn to the PTO.  Utilizing the connections made with our members and volunteer list we are able to assist the school in finding the help they need. 

Garner Input

We gather input from parents and then communicate that to the administration to address any concerns.  We encourage participation at monthly PTO meetings from all members!

Mission Statement

The FCAC-PTO is dedicated to strengthening the bridge between school and home by fostering community, encouraging communication, and creating a positive campus environment. This will be accomplished by:

  1. Promoting community through the encouragement of parent, teacher, and administration involvement in functions.
  2. Providing an unbiased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children that will encourage communication between parents, teachers, and administration.
  3. Striving to continually improve the campus environment in spirit and aesthetics. By hosting events for students to gather outside of school hours and raising funds to help transform the appearance and function of the building. We will show good stewardship through transparency and being forthright about how funds are managed and used.

My name is Camille Stowe.  My oldest daughter has been a part of FCAC for sixyears now and I am constantly amazed by the teachers and staff. I have served as a Room Parent, Teacher Appreciation Chair, and 2nd Vice President. I am thrilled for my 3rd year as President, and hope to ignite school spirit. Go Falcons!

Hi my name is Joanna Thompson and I am honored to be serving as first Vice President. I previously served on the PTO board and I have been a room parent as well. I have 2 daughters at FCAC and our family has been a part of this wonderful school since 2019. I love serving our school in any way I can and I am absolutely beaming with Falcon pride!

This will be our sixth year at FCAC and my fourth year serving as a PTO officer. In the past, I served as a Room Parent and Room Parent Coordinator. We chose this school because of the classical education, small class size, and people. I love to engage with other families as well as serve our amazing teachers and staff. Building a sense of community, retaining our families, and advocating for charter schools are just a few of my priorities. My background is in Marketing, Communications, and Recruiting, which I hope can be useful in this role. I look forward to listening to your ideas and advocating for our families.

My name is Beth Addy. I have three students at FCAC and this is their third year to attend school here. I have served as room parent and this will be my second year as Treasurer. FCAC has been a great change for my family and I look forward to serving the school in any way I can.
